Welcome to the website of Danny King, a crazy person from the North West of England, who is famous for absaloutely nothing whatsoever. The only reason for having this website over a MyFace or SpaceBook is because I am too defiant for my own good.
On September 6th 2008 I was arsed to :
- Update the blog again.
- Created a blog archive.
- Replace Gif of the Day with Random Gif.
- Do something about Random Stuff.
Lots of September Stuff ...
SEPTEMBER.06.2008|DANNY
First thing is first - Google have released their new web browser, Chrome, and a new build of Windows Live Messenger 9.0 somehow ended up on my laptop. I've reviewed both of these, incase you didn't realise how to find that, click the orange words above.
Anyway, moving on to Red Dwarf, the old Sci-Fi sitcom from the 90's that everyone loved. Well, apparently it's making something of a comeback - BBC Worldwide (aka Canada, for fucks sake..) have commissioned a one-hour special episode. Details are sketchy at the moment, it's either going to be on BBC2, Dave, Direct to DVD or according to the ever reliable tabloids, a sketch-drawn slideshow on QVC. Either way, exciting times.

First have managed to top themselves yet again, with a new revolutionary on-board heating system for passengers - fire. Yes, I did just say fire, as in the flaming red burning stuff that kills people. Trials have been sadly unsucsessful, as the picture to the right aptly illustrates - the 100 (which, worryingly I do occasionaly use) set itself on fire outside B&Q in Trafford Park. Lovely, eh?
Still, September is here and you need all the heat you can get. All the students and kids are back in school clogging up the roads with SUV's and boring you to death on the bus with innane and retarded conversations about what becky said to her, and what she said to me, not to mention the weather.
It's a good thing I invested in a brolly, frankly, because even though I had one I had to be ringed out when I got home from work yesterday. And the day before. My phone's weather gadget thing always predicts sunshine with half clouds - which is correct when I'm in the office - just when I leave it, it changes it's mind.
Some iPhail followup ...
AUGUST.26.2008|DANNY
You may remember on this site some time ago I wrote an article about the new iPhone, and it's annoying, pretentious advertising that made claims it had no right to be making.
Since then I've had complaints from all kinds of retarded people saying how wrong I am, which is fine, it's your life, if you want to throw your money away fine. I'm just writing here today to tell you the Advertising Standards Agency sides with me.
Apple have been banned from running their iPhone advertising campaign in the United Kingdom because it is misleading -
It isn't able to display flash movies or Java applications (like my TyTN can) which is an integeral part of the "full" Internet these days.
Shame, really, that the only phone able to "display the full internet" according to Apple, can't display quite as much of it as my phone can. Still, considering the iPhone has just entered the realms of 3G half a decade too late (how the origonal was sold without it beggars belief...) while I was wizzing along on a HSPDA connection years ago probably has something to do with that.
Apple argue that their advert simply meant that most phones - such as clamshells and whatnot - only show wap pages and not proper web pages like the iPhone.
Misleading and dubious tactics there from Apple - claiming you're the only phone that shows actual web pages while fully acknowledging Windows Mobile as competition, then pretending Windows Mobile is a non-entity when the ASA are all over your arse-hole is something I'd expect from a 2-bit IT company who's managing director is an illegal alien.
Brief message ...
AUGUST.26.2008|DANNY
My bank holiday promise was indeed shallow for anyone keeping score, I'll try again this weekend. Actually I tell a lie, there's A4 Pacific steam train Union of South Africa and two Deltic's due at Manchester Victoria this weekend - priorities.
Anyway, I just thought I'd post this brief exchange I just had for a giggle. I don't generally read my YouTube anymore and let the messages fester but this one caught my eye for some reason.

And the reply;
Just some general advice for scam artists and desperate fat 27-32 year olds.
